Playing with Color: Next Session TBA

Duration: 1-1.5 hours
Materials needed: Picture of object or animal you would like to paint - for reference.
Know your favorite color!
Materials provided:
1 - 5x7 canvas board
Paints/pastels/markers
Spray mat varnish - Glossy or matte finish
notebook/sketchbook (provided within two weeks of class)
Description: In this workshop we will play with mixing colors in a variety of media, (acrylic, pastels, watercolors). We will put down a background of mixing these fun colors - so come to class knowing your favorit colors! Then we can work on drawing a basic sketch of what you would like to paint aand then start playing. I will help with guidance and show some different techniques to get the look you want..At the end of class - we take a photo of your piece and spray varnish it so color will stay on the board.
You get to go home with the 5x7 canvasboard and then within two weeks we will have a sketch/note book ready for you with your own personal masterpiece to be picked up at the store.
Price: $40 per person, ideal for parents and children. Kris loves working with people of all ages and abilities.

Description: In this work shop we will get to explore basic painting techniques and mixing of colors. This will allow for some time to play and even bounce ideas off fellow painters to help create your own masterpiece.

Cartooning I: The Fine Art of the Doodle
Duration: 2 Hours
Fee and Materials: $35,
Materials include paper, pencils and illustration pens for use in session. Take home kit consisting of pencil kit, "inking" pens and small sketch book for $20 must be preordered. Participants may bring favoritedrawing supplies but are encouraged to label them.
Content:
Learn the basics of penciling and inking cartoon art with an emphasis on producing results that easily translate into t-shirts or other secondary printing process. Basics of cartooning proportion, artistic composition, value and shading will be covered as part of instruction.
Emphasis on "Garfield" like or comic book/magna art is the decision of the participant. The basic principles taught in this class will apply to both.
Age Appropriateness: This session is designed for all ages with a minimum age of 8 to 10 years. Participant descression is advised and addtional support is available for youth and others with special challenges.
